To answer why you should trust us with your care has to be answered with why we chose to open a practice. Fewer and fewer doctors are opening practices because of the current state of the medical industry and financial and regulatory pressures. For the first time in our country more doctors are employed versus self-employed. So why did we choose to open an independent practice?
We wanted to do something together as a husband and wife, we wanted to be able to choose who we worked with and how the practice would be ran, and ultimately wanted to do medicine differently than private equity companies and corporate America.
We wanted patients to be recognized and have relationships with them versus transactions. We wanted to see improvement in patient’s health. We wanted patients to feel cared for when they make an appointment and cared for when they’re seen by the doctor. We wanted to be respectful with patient’s time and see them quickly and be available to see them on short notice.
We also wanted to have time for our four boys. We wanted our employees to have a livable wage and time with their families. We wanted employees to have opportunities and the desire to stay long term.
Ultimately, we can’t tell you why you should trust us with your care. We can only describe what is important to us and why we chose to open a practice. Hopefully this explains our motivation to take a chance and go against the current trend in medicine. Thank you for reading.
Sincerely,
Dr Jill and Andy Salyards
